The "Fair Tax"

The so-called “Fair Tax” is an idea that’s been around for a while and is slowly gaining some momentum.
The basic concept is to tax wealth instead of income, and to remove restrictions and taxes which oppress and supress the creation of wealth and jobs.

The largest obstruction in the way of it’s acceptance is the horrible initial thoughts at the idea of a 23% sales tax.

Neal Bootz explains it better than anyone here:

Once you run the numbers and do the math, it’s a lot less for most people than they are paying now in income taxes, SSI, and other taxes that would disappear, and all without the headaches of record keeping, tax returns, red tape and nonsense dealing with the IRS.

It’s far better than the current system, even is still far worse than replacing the income tax with spending cuts and elimination of the socialist programs which require oppressive taxation.
